Coronavirus Update.png

MAY 2020

Greetings to our CCCWL Church Family

I continue to pray that you and your family in good health.

I wanted to write to you today following the Prime Minister’s statement on Sunday 10th May, to clarify what the statement means for us as a Church going forward. As a leadership we feel it is extremely important to follow the advice given both from the Government and the Assemblies of God.

Reflecting on the past few weeks, I am grateful to God for His help and strength as we have navigated an unknown path in this season. It has been challenging but God has given us the wisdom and strength to move forward. The Church has left the building, but the Church is very much alive and active.

I say the Church is active because I have seen the daily messages, and all the emails; and I am aware of all the calls, all the care, and all the support in every area, all of which show a high level of love and concern for each other. At the start of the crisis the goal was that no one would be disconnected; that everyone would have the option to be part of a Sunday Celebration, and a Small Group. We have worked hard on this objective and have been really encouraged by the way CCCWL has risen to the challenge of this new day, and we have been so encouraged by the response to the 'Life's Healing Choices' series.

Following the latest Government Statement on Sunday 10th May, and in line with advice from Assemblies of God UK, our CCCWL Church Building will continue to be closed for ALL public gatherings, until further notice.

Going Forward

The recent Parliamentary Statement changes very little for the Church, although we are still looking at it carefully. What we do know is that the hope of opening up the building on a Sunday may be a few months away yet. During the lockdown, most of the office functions have been carried out from home and will continue to be. We cannot see any reason at this moment to open the Church Office. We are monitoring the orders for Purpose Driven Ministries UK, but right now they are almost at a standstill.

CCCWL Celebrations - CCCWL Sunday Celebrations will continue to be available online only

•    There will be a CCCWL Celebration to watch online only at 10.30am
•    This will be available to everyone on the CCCWL YouTube Channel by following the link below

Our Online Small Groups will continue, and I encourage you to make the most of them. They are an excellent opportunity to reflect on Sunday’s message and connect online with other brothers and sisters. Online Small Groups are held via Zoom. Please contact us for more information or take a look at the Life's Healing Choices Programme Page.

Giving to CCCWL

We would encourage you to continue your habit of Biblical giving in the coming weeks, as the CCCWL bills still need to be paid.

It is extremely important for us to recognise how the Church has responded and risen to the challenge of the ‘new norm’. The church has embraced online giving in a tremendous way, and we cannot overstate the importance of this. Thank you so much. As we continue, it is highly important that we maintain this position and build on this great work. Thank you for your faithfulness, we so honour your sacrifice.

Connection

We have continued to connect every week with as many people as possible. We have prioritised those living alone, although every single person is really precious to us and of course to God. This connection is not the responsibility of one individual, but the whole church family. So please keep the calls, the emails and messages coming, especially as we plan for the next few weeks.

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9 (NIV)

I am overwhelmed by the way CCCWL has really risen to the challenge of being the ‘Church that has left the building’. Everyone is just brilliant, and we appreciate you so much. Please continue to connect with us if we can help you in any way. I believe the Church will rise from this stronger and wiser as we continue to move forward in these days. On a personal note thank you for all your love and support to me and my family, we miss seeing you and we cannot wait until we can all get together again soon.

A word of encouragement for you and your family today...

Energize the limp hands, strengthen the rubbery knees.
Tell fearful souls, “Courage! Take heart!
God is here, right here, on his way to put things right
And redress all wrongs. He’s on his way! He’ll save you!”
Isaiah 34: 3 - 4 (MSG)
