Who are we?

The role of the Junior Church Ministry in CCCWL is to Educate, to Equip, to Empower  the young hearts  that are birthed into the Kingdom of God.

We aim to achieve this by :

  • Enabling each child to realise and maximise their full spiritual potential by educating them.

  • Raising each child’s spiritual awareness in relation to the world around them by equipping them.

  • Encouraging each child to develop strong Christian links with their peers, this will help them to develop a sense of belonging by empowering them.

Structure

Our Junior Church Ministry currently has a team of 6 Teachers/Leaders and 5 Assistants. All our teachers and assistants have a heart, a passion and calling to reach out to our young children and impart their God-given knowledge and wisdom. All our teachers are Disclosure and Barring Services checked (DBS), this means that as a church we make safer recruitment decisions and prevent unsuitable people from working with children or potentially vulnerable groups. Our assistants are mentored and trained in order to  become Junior Church Teachers and Leaders.

We also receive training from the following organisations:

  • Churches Child Protection Advisory Service (CCPAS) an independent Christian Safeguarding Charity - www.ccpas.co.uk

  • AOG ikids  - www.ikidsgb.com

We currently have Junior Church in the 9:30am service on a Sunday morning, but we are continually seeking to recruit more volunteers so that we can expand this to the 12:00pm service.

Key Scriptures

Matthew 19 v14 (Message Bible)

"One day children were brought to Jesus in the hope that he would lay hands on them and pray over them. The disciples shooed them off. But Jesus intervened: “Let the children alone, don’t prevent them from coming to me. God’s kingdom is made up of people like these.” After laying hands on them, he left."

Luke 18 v15 (Message Bible)

"People brought babies to Jesus, hoping he might touch them. When the disciples saw it, they shooed them off. Jesus called them back. “Let these children alone. Don’t get between them and me. These children are the kingdom’s pride and joy. Mark this: Unless you accept God’s kingdom in the simplicity of a child, you’ll never get in.”
